Hi everyone, thanks for pointing this out! This is indeed a compatibility issue between older J2Store v4.0.5 versions and newer joomla v5.2.2 versions. The error occurs because J2Store doesn’t pass the mediaTypeNames field in the $displayData array, which joomla now requires. Here’s the fix:
1. Open the file administrator/components/com_j2store/helpers/j2html.php
2. Look for the part where $displayData is defined (inside the media() function).
3. Add the following line to the $displayData array:
  // Define media type names $mediaTypeNames = array('images', 'audios', 'videos', 'documents');
  
  The section should look like this after the change:
  // Define media type names $mediaTypeNames = array('images', 'audios', 'videos', 'documents'); $displayData = array( 'asset' => 'com_j2store', 'mediaTypeNames' => $mediaTypeNames, // add media type names etc...
4. Save the file and test the feature again.
This should resolve the error.

Attention! If the j2store component is updated, this file will be overwritten. If the author of j2store does not fix this error, the error will occur again.

Hey, I was editing a Joomla article and tried to add an image using J2Store v4.0.5. But I’m getting this error:
implode(): Argument #1 ($array) must be of type array, string given.
Anyone knows what’s going on here?

  I’ve seen this issue before! It happens when J2Store tries to access the media field, but Joomla expects an array for media types. it is probably because your joomla version is newer, but J2Store is still using older code.

  yes i had the same problem! It typically happens when an article contains a media file reference created with an older version of Joomla. The error is caused because Joomla now expects a variable called mediaTypeNames in the media.php file, which J2Store doesn’t provide.
